Giving Cold and Wet days the Cold Shoulder!

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has provided us with safety guidelines, based on which we have created a clothing and gear Amazon Idea List for our Forest MunKis.
The graphs below further visualize how you can help your children stay warm, by layering them up properly so they can remain comfortable even in temperatures below 40°F!
We have assigned different temperature ranges to the three types of weather illustrated in the graphs and organized the clothing section into base, second, outer layers and accessories. We then assigned each category specific clothing items which all have their specific key function in keeping your child warm and dry, based on decades of Swiss Alpine skiing experience.

Note that when deciding on how to dress your child, always go by how the temperatures are perceived and not by the temperatures that were actually measured, as wind, humidity and precipitation can have dramatic effects on how we experience extreme heat or cold.
We encourage parents to always keep at least one dry pair of socks, mittens, and pants in their child's little backpack, as well as disposable hand and toe warmers during winter.
Furthermore, we suggest that children always have a pair of rain pants handy to explore muddy terrain, while staying dry in the process.
Finally, we recommend parents to get their children an extra pair of winter boots and an extra snow suit, in case one of them gets soaked, or needs laundering and won’t fully dry by the next day.
